- Roseville has the highest FEMA storm protection rating in the U.S., thanks to large investments in our infrastructure since the 1980s. And we're gonna need it! This "pineapple express" that is hitting us overnight and today is a doozy! "Less than 7% of the city is within a floodplain, most of which is undeveloped open space. This means a lower flood risk for hundreds of structures," according to News 10. (ABC10.com KXTV)
- The Roseville Joint Union High School District Superintendent has a message for his students, staff and their families. " I know our teachers and staff are deeply dedicated, and I hope to see continued inspiration as they help students reach their full potential and create campuses that offer truly memorable educational experiences for each student," he said in a message published Wednesday. (Roseville Today)
- @the Grounds in Roseville had a gangbusters 2022. The venue welcomed back favorites, like the Great Junk Hunt and Reptile Nation and added spaces like Attaway Pavilion to welcome new activities. "Through these events, @the Grounds and the Roebbelen Center brought more than 331,000 attendees to Roseville and the surrounding area." (Roseville Today)
- A lot of chatter is happening on social media about an incident in the 1200 block of Old Coach Drive. The incident involved a group of juveniles. "The Police Department has identified the vehicle/driver and taken a statement regarding the incident. Additionally, Officers have taken statements from those involved in the incident." The investigation is ongoing, but if it's determined that laws were broken,"the community can rest assured ... the Police Department will work to hold those involved accountable for their actions." (City of Roseville, California Police Department via Facebook)
- On New Year's Day, Lincoln police responded to the 1100 block of Fox Lane on reports of a dead body at the location. When they arrived, they found a deceased male with "several gunshot wounds." The victim was identified as Jimmie Wiedeman by the sheriff's office. The investigation is ongoing. (Sacramento Bee via MSN)
