  1. Roseville Today has our backs again, with another list of new California laws we should all be aware of. Today the publication covers laws "on violent posts, child support, disability insurance, Cal Works, bankruptcy, vehicle insurance and more."
  2. Roseville hosted Placer High in a non-league baseball game on Tuesday. Our Roseville Tigers pulled out a 6-4 victory over Placer. It looked good for Placer in the third inning when a two- run homer put them one run down from Roseville at 5-4, but that would be all the runs they would gain. (Gold Country Media)
  3. A hidden gem in Auburn is located within the walls of City Hall. It's a 1916 schoolroom, pulled right from the pages of the history books. Lucky school kids who visit today get a real live lesson, just like kids would have gotten back in the day, and they learn about people who made history in our area, like Sarah Jane Dunlap, a landowner and the first suffragist in Northern California. Tours are also available to the general public. (Gold Country Media)
  4. March 11 was cold and rainy and awful at Folsom Lake, but that didn't stop the Polar Plunge from happening that day! Stalwart locals plunged themselves into the 50-degree lake to help raise money for Special Olympics. A 5K trail run was also part of the festivities. "The event exceeded its goal of $100,000 this year as $104,085 was the tallied total of money raised by Saturday morning. " (Folsom Times)

Today in Roseville:

  • Create! At The Library presents: Lucky Leprechaun Rainbows at all Roseville library locations. (All Day)
  • Party all night with happy hour prices until closing time at Brickyard Kitchen and Bar in Roseville. (2:00 PM)
  • Head over to Red Bus Brewing in Folsom for Trivia with Chad! (7:00 PM)

From my notebook:

  • We're starting to sneak up on travel season! That means lots of pictures of lots of exotic places, even if it's just the San Diego Zoo. Action Camera is hosting a Travel Photography Class on April 8. "You’ll be learning how think outside the box and really enhance your creativity on your trips both near and far! This is for a general audience with interest in travel photos in various genres and at all experience levels."
  • Don't miss Movies in the Park on March 24 at Quarry Park Amphitheater! "Top Gun: Maverick" is playing. Bring a blanket and an appetite, because food trucks will offer plenty of greasy goodness before the movie begins. (rocklin.ca.us)
  • The Roseville Utility Exploration Center is hosting a free workshop on April 8 called Three Ways to Practical and Affordable Drip Conversions. "In this class you will learn the basics of a DIY drip conversion and the three different types of drip systems. For the hands on portion of the class we will practice converting an existing sprinkler system into the three different types of drip systems."
