Sacramento Firm Wins Engineering Excellence Award

Sacramento, CA (January 23, 2014) – Quincy Engineering, Inc. of Sacramento has received an Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of California (ACECCA)  for their work on the Foresthill Road Bridge Siesmic Retrofit and Paint Project in Auburn, CA.

Quincy was engaged by Placer County Department of Public Works to develop innovative seismic retrofit design and repainting strategies to meet today’s seismic load standards and extend the longevity of the bridge. This $65.8M project was designed and built within 3 years and involved the development of creative retrofit measures and an environmentally sensitive hazardous paint removal/repainting system. Sitting 730 ft. above the pristine American River, this iconic 2,400 ft. long bridge is the tallest bridge in California and the 4th tallest bridge in the United States and has been the site for several movies and commercials.
