August 26, 2013 - Sammy’s Rockin Island Bar & Grill is continuing a weekly comedy showcase featuring both nationally touring and local comedians. The show is being held on the stage at the vibrant restaurant located on Vernon Street in the heart of the downtown Roseville.
“We see a demand for quality comedic entertainment,” said Steve Pease, managing partner of the Sammy Hagar island-themed establishment. “We have received such a positive response that we think it will become a regular night out for the residents of Roseville and a frequent stop for many comedians.”
All of the shows start at 8:30 pm and feature a host and an opening act. Admission is $5, or free with purchase an entrée.

The comedy series opened to an overwhelmingly successful performance headlined by Cheryl “the Soccer Mom” on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Cheryl is on NickMom Night Out, and just returned from an overseas tour entertaining US servicemen and women and is one of the founding members of the hilarious group of entertainers known as The Real (funny) Housewives of Rio Linda.
Another member of the Housewives troupe is Steph Garcia who is slated to appear at Sammy’s Island on September 11, 2013. Steph is a contender in Comedy Central’s Up Next Talent Search and recently appeared on ABC’s The View as one of the five funniest housewives in America.

“It is our intention to make a connection with the comedy fans in the area and provide them a world- class evening of entertainment,” said Patrick Desmond, host of the show and local comedian. “The supply of talented comedians traveling through or living in the Sacramento area is really quite remarkable.”
The next show is Wednesday, August 28, 2013 and will feature Sacramento comedian Ray Molina along with Meg Sevier & Michael Patten. Upcoming shows:
