- Western Placer Waste Management Authority in Lincoln is now accepting old, unwanted mattresses and box springs for free! Come by the facility any time from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday or Sunday to drop off your mattress or box spring. "A mattress recycled through the Bye Bye Mattress program is broken up into four main components – steel, foam, fibers and wood – which are used to make hundreds of new products such as carpet padding, construction rebar, insulation, filters and mulch." - Guilty as Charged is a group of young musicians, 12 to 17 years old, who are taking the Lincoln concert circuit by storm. "Don’t let their youth fool you,” said Steve Pagano, Rockstar Music Academy owner. “These guys can hold their own in any club, festival or stadium and they have played them all.” If you want to catch them, they're playing throughout the region this month, but get your tickets early! Their gigs always sell out. (Gold Country Media)

- Folks in one Folsom neighborhood woke up to an ugly sight in their driveways on Friday. Someone had thrown flyers onto some of the driveways on Callander Way that had a link to a website believed to be a white supremacist site. “Included are advertisements for network meet and greets, the graphic for which includes a cutout of California with a swastika inside.” According to the Folsom PD Facebook page, police are investigating this incident as a hate crime.
