New video shows ICE agents' visit to Sacramento immigration law firm office (fresnobee.com) — New surveillance video from a North Natomas building shows ICE agents spending more than 40 minutes outside a Sacramento immigration law firm, contradicting parts of Homeland Security's shifting explanations. The footage captures an agent entering the office without a warrant, building staff pushing back, and local leaders demanding answers about why federal officers targeted a clearly marked legal practice.
   

2. East Sacramento apartment complex poised to clear another hurdle as backlash fizzles (abridged.org) — An East Sacramento block near Alhambra Boulevard is close to becoming a six‑story, 302‑unit apartment complex with a parking garage and coffee shop, replacing long-vacant warehouses and homes. The Sacramento City Council is set to vote on abandoning Chinatown Alley through the site, clearing the way for new utilities and construction after earlier neighborhood opposition fizzled and no lawsuits emerged.
   

3. New Gold Runner bus connects Redding to Sacramento with twice-daily service (krcrtv.com) — A new Gold Runner bus now offers twice-daily trips between Redding and both Sacramento International Airport and downtown Sacramento, giving locals a cheaper, more direct way to reach the capital and connect statewide. Riders pay $23 each way, with morning and early afternoon departures from Redding and evening returns, helping families cut gas costs and simplify Bay Area and Central Valley travel.
   

4. Jag Nagendra Named to Sacramento's 2026 Top 60 List (southasianherald.com) — Sacramento's 2026 Top 60 Change Makers list now includes Folsom City Council candidate and state engineer Jag Nagendra, recognized for decades of community and professional leadership. He's been active with Sacramento-area cultural and professional groups and will be honored at an October 13 gala at the Sheraton Grand in downtown Sacramento, highlighting growing South Asian civic visibility regionwide.
   

5. Amazon delivery driver accused of hitting elderly man at Elk Grove gas station, police say (kcra.com) — An Amazon delivery driver is facing felony elder abuse and other charges after police say he struck a 72-year-old man during a parking dispute at an Elk Grove gas station, then later turned himself in at the Sacramento County Main Jail. The victim reportedly fell to the ground after being hit, and the suspect's next court date is set for Sept. 24.
