- A mother and daughter are accused of being part of a group that assaulted a child in Elk Grove. The Elk Grove Police Department said three middle-school-age children were walking near Bruceville Road and Laguna Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when two adults and one kid assaulted a girl. Police said when a friend tried to intervene, another woman hit him with a stick. Police said they used videos of the assault that were posted to social media to identify four of the people responsible. The victims of the attack are students at Harriet Eddy Middle School. That campus is about a half-mile away from where the assault happened. (KCRA3)

- A Sacramento business owner's food trailer was recently stolen, and he is asking the public to be on the lookout for it. The owner, Marcelles Cain operates his food truck business, Lobster Mobster Bussdown out of the trailer. Over the past year, Cain has served up soul food dishes through his business. Cain said a neighbor's security camera caught the thieves driving up in a U-Haul pickup truck on Tuesday morning. Cain started a GoFundMe page to help raise money to buy a new trailer, but he's still holding out hope his stolen trailer will be found and returned. (FOX40)
- For a lot of Folsom residents Sunday's Super Bowl game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams provides a bit more reason than normal to watch: two Folsom High graduates and former Bulldog football stars will be on the Bengals sideline. One, Jonah Williams, a 2016 graduate of Folsom High, will be the starting left tackle (No. 73) for the Bengals' offense. The other, a 2015 graduate of Folsom High, Jake Browning, will be standing on the Bengals sideline as the quarterback for the Bengals practice squad (and, as such, is not eligible to suit up and play on game day). Current Folsom High football coach Paul Doherty is also excited for the game. "We're definitely pulling for the Bengals," Doherty said. (Folsom Telegraph)
