• Thieves steal $80K bronze statue of Kentucky Derby winner in California (wlky.com) — A longtime bronze statue of 1886 Kentucky Derby winner Ben Ali has been stolen from its pedestal along Del Paso Boulevard in Sacramento, and police are investigating the $80,000 theft. The statue honored the area's historic Rancho Del Paso horse-racing legacy, and city officials say replacing it may be difficult without new funding.
   

• Citrus Heights Vice Mayor champions Blue Envelope program throughout region (citrusheightssentinel.com) — A new Blue Envelope Program is rolling out across Sacramento County, giving residents with disabilities or special conditions a simple way to signal they may need extra support during police encounters. With Sacramento-area police chiefs on board, the voluntary, free program uses blue-branded envelopes and accessories to store key documents and improve communication, aiming to make interactions safer and less stressful for everyone involved.
   

• Kaiser announces another round of job cuts affecting 147 California employees (wheninyourstate.com) — Kaiser Permanente is cutting 147 administrative jobs statewide on November 20, including small reductions at offices in Sacramento and Folsom. While no hospitals or medical offices are closing and direct patient care roles are unaffected, some local administrative staff will lose positions just before the holidays. Kaiser says it's offering internal opportunities, severance, and career support where possible.
