San Bernardino police sergeant knew he was being recorded, Treasure Ortiz says in testimony (sbsun.com) — San Bernardino Councilmember Treasure Ortiz testified in her misdemeanor eavesdropping trial that a city police sergeant knew she was recording their 2024 meeting about alleged misuse of a law-enforcement database. Prosecutors say she violated California’s two-party consent law, while Ortiz argues she visibly placed her phone on the table and the sergeant agreed to be recorded.

Update: Blake Fire in San Bernardino County is now fully contained (sacbee.com) — A small wildfire dubbed the Blake Fire in San Bernardino County has been fully contained after burning about 10.5 acres since late Monday night. Firefighters with Cal Fire’s San Bernardino Unit have a control line around the blaze, meaning it’s no longer expected to spread, though some burning may continue within the perimeter.
