Up To 10-Foot Waves Could Hit San Diego Area Beaches

SAN DIEGO, CA — Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions are expected Monday along the San Diego County coastline.

A high surf advisory is in effect until noon at San Diego area beaches.

Large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet are expected, with occasional sets up to 10 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters warned of dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.

"Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions," the NWS said.
