2 Seriously Injured In Poway Crash
A 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were in the hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Poway.

POWAY, CA — A 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were in the hospital Friday with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Poway.
Officers from the San Diego Police Department were called at 8:52 p.m. Thursday to the 10900 block of Poway Road where they learned the 19-year-old woman was driving a 2009 Honda Civic at a high rate of speed eastbound on Poway Road where she switched lanes and lost control of her car, said Officer Robert Heims.
The driver struck the curb and two trees, and was taken to a hospital, where she had surgery due to her extensive internal injuries, Heims said.

The 17-year-old passenger was also taken to a hospital with internal injuries, which Heims said were life-threatening.
Police said alcohol was not a factor.
