2nd Fire In 5 Days Ignites In San Diego's Fairmount Park Area
Fire crews put the blaze out quickly.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Another vegetation fire broke out in Fairmount Park Friday, the second such blaze in five days.
The first fire began at 5:47 a.m. Sunday in the Chollas Creek stormwater channel at 4200 Federal Blvd. across the street from the San Diego Police Department K-9 station, according to OnScene TV. The fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes.
The fire started in a homeless encampment, the video news service said.

Friday's fire began at 3:54 a.m. at 4200 Federal Blvd., also in the stormwater channel, across the street from the SDPD shooting range. Fire crews put the blaze out quickly.
