3 Bat-Eared Foxes Born At San Diego Zoo Safari Park
First-time mother Winter and her kits can be seen at the Safari Park's Nairobi Village area.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Three bat-eared foxes were recently born at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, zoo officials announced Monday.
The baby foxes, also known as kits, were born May 15, said Emily Senninger, spokesperson for San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. The little foxes, who do not yet have names, are now venturing out of the den with their mother, Winter, and into their habitat at the zoo in Escondido.
The baby foxes enjoy wrestling with one another and playing with their mom's big ears, according to the Safari Park. Their current daily activities include chasing each other's tails and catching crickets.

Winter, a first-time mom, nurses her kits throughout the day and night. They have also started to eat solid food, which includes mealworms.
There are five total bat-eared foxes at the Safari Park, including Winter and her babies, Senninger told Patch. Winter and her kits can be seen at the Safari Park's Nairobi Village area.
