Aftershocks Continue: Small Earthquake Strikes Imperial County

The earthquake on Tuesday was the latest in a series of tremblers to hit Southern California.

IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA — A small earthquake struck Tuesday morning in Imperial County. The magnitude 3.3 quake hit at 10:15 a.m. about nine miles north of Ocotillo, a census-designated place in Imperial County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

No damage or injuries were immediately reported.

The earthquake on Tuesday was the latest in a series of tremblers to hit the region.

A 4.5-magnitude quake was felt across parts of Southern California Sunday afternoon. The quake struck about 10.5 miles southeast of Ocotillo Wells, an unincorporated community in San Diego County, according to the USGS.

Aftershocks continued Monday when a 3.1-magnitude quake shook about 11 miles southeast of Anza.
