ESCONDIDO, CA — A $1.5 million Powerball ticket sold in Escondido remains unclaimed, and the winner has until next Thursday to claim the prize, the California Lottery announced.
The winning ticket was sold at Varso Gas near Escondido Boulevard and Brotherton Road for the Feb. 21 drawing. The winning ticket matched the five white ball numbers: 27, 28, 36, 48 and 49. It did not match the red Powerball number, which was 21.
The ticket's winner must claim the prize by Aug. 20, according to the California Lottery.
Lottery officials encouraged anyone who purchased a Powerball ticket at the Escondido gas station to check their numbers.
Prize claim information is available on the California Lottery's website.
