Another Quake Hits East Of San Diego County After Earthquake Swarm
The quake was reported late Sunday night.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Another earthquake hit east of San Diego County over the weekend, following an earthquake swarm near the U.S.-Mexico border.
The 3.1 magnitude quake was reported at 10:57 p.m. Sunday nearly 7 miles east of Ocotillo, a census-designated place in Imperial County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake had a depth of more than 4 miles.
The earthquake comes after a series of quakes rattled the San Diego region late Thursday and early Friday, starting with a 4.8 magnitude temblor just before midnight Thursday, according to the USGS.

The quake was quickly followed by three smaller aftershocks, according to the USGS. The quakes struck near the U.S.- Mexico border, including magnitude 3.5, magnitude 2.6, and magnitude 3.4 quakes.
The 4.8 magnitude quake that started the swam struck 7.4 miles east of Ocotillo at 11:43 p.m. Thursday. The temblor was more than 5 miles deep, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

There were no immediate reports of damage from the quakes.
