Back-To-Back Robberies Reported At 2 T-Mobile Stores

The suspect duo threatened employees with pepper spray at both businesses, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two T-Mobile stores in the Hillcrest and Redwood Village neighborhoods of San Diego were robbed about 30 minutes apart Tuesday night by suspects, with similar descriptions, who reportedly threatened workers with pepper spray, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported in either incident, the San Diego Police Department said

In the first case at 5800 University Ave. in Redwood Village, two males entered the store at 6:45 p.m. and stole several cellular phones and iPads, with one suspect threatening employees with pepper spray if they attempted to stop them, police said.

The duo then left the store heading east through the parking lot, officials said.

The suspects were described as black males in their 20s, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 150 pounds, police said. One was wearing a gray sweatshirt and pants; the other wore a blue sweater and black pants.

In the second case, officers responded to a robbery call at 7:17 p.m. at the T-Mobile shop at 100 Washington St. in Hillcrest after two males reportedly entered the business, with one flashing a can of pepper spray and the other using a tool to cut security wires to steal phones, police said. The two then left the store in an unknown direction.

Both suspects were described as black, 5 feet, 11 inches with thin builds and in their 20s. One was wearing a blue hoodie and black sweatpants, and the other had on a gray hoodie and gray sweatpants, police said.
