Man Arrested In Death Of Girlfriend Found In San Diego Apartment
Officers reported seeing blood in several areas throughout the apartment.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend who was found severely injured inside their San Diego apartment.
Officers responded around 3:50 a.m. Saturday to the 4300 block of 54th Street after a man called to report a non-responsive woman inside the apartment in San Diego's Colina Del Sol neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police found a woman in her 30s suffering from apparent facial trauma. Officers also reported seeing blood in several areas throughout the apartment.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries, police said. Her name was not released.
The reporting party, later identified as Jose Manuel Casteneda, 38, was taken into custody at the scene. He will be charged on suspicion of murder, police said.

Homicide detectives and the department's Domestic Violence Unit were investigating the woman's death.
