Bullet Lands Near Kids Playing Baseball In San Diego County
Authorities are working to determine who is responsible for shooting a gun near a youth baseball game in San Marcos.

SAN MARCOS, CA — Authorities are working to determine who is responsible for shooting a gun near a youth baseball game in northern San Diego County, sending one bullet onto the field.
Several 911 callers reported hearing gunshots before 8 p.m. Monday near Mission Sports Park at 931 Bailey Court in San Marcos, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
In video footage captured by a surveillance camera at the field, seven shots can be heard as a player holding a bat waits for a pitch. Just after the final shot goes off, a puff of dirt shoots up on the path between first and second base.

No one was hurt in the shooting, officials said.
Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to contact the San Marcos Sheriff's Station at-760-510-5200 or the San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
