184-Acre Bunnie Fire 30% Contained In Ramona
The wildfire sparked Wednesday near Chuck Wagon and San Vicente roads, in the area of Barnett Ranch County Preserve.

RAMONA, CA — Crews on Thursday continued to work to contain the remnants of a wildfire that forced evacuations and threatened homes this week in Ramona.
The blaze, called the Bunnie Fire, sparked at about 11:35 a.m. Wednesday near Chuck Wagon and San Vicente roads, in the area of Barnett Ranch County Preserve, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters battled the flames on the ground and aboard firefighting aircraft as authorities issued evacuation orders and warnings for residents in the area.
The fire reached 184 acres before crews halted the spread of the flames around 3 p.m. Wednesday. By 8:20 p.m., all evacuation orders and warnings were lifted.

As of 7 a.m. Thursday, the fire was 30 percent contained.
"Fire crews have made good progress overnight," Cal Fire said on social media.

The blaze caused no reported structural damage. The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
