Firefighters are conducting a planned burn near Pine Valley on Thursday.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – Firefighters are conducting a controlled burn Thursday in eastern San Diego County.
The planned 100-acre burn near the community of Pine Valley is expected to take several days to complete, according to Cal Fire. The blaze will be ignited mid-morning on the Corte Madera Ranch south of Interstate 8.
The prescribed burn is part of Cal Fire's Vegetation Management Program, which uses controlled burns to eliminate brush that could become hazardous fuel for wildfires.
