The Stand Opens 23rd Location in San Diego, California

Known for offering “American Classics Redefined,” The Stand restaurant has opened its 23rd location in Mission Valley, Calif. The new restaurant is located at 1640 Camino Del Rio N., Suite 214 in San Diego, at The Valley, which has been undergoing exciting renovations. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on October 8, 2026 at 10:30 am. The family-owned restaurant is inviting members of the media and families alike to check out the new location and give their palate a treat with the bold creative twists on American classics that make up their menu.

“We are excited for the community to come into our new Mission Valley restaurant ,” said Zachary Wishengrad, vice president for The Stand. “It’s a great addition to the renovated mall and provides people in the area with a dining out option that is affordable, delicious, and offers a unique twist on familiar classics.”

The new location has a full bar, offers handcrafted cocktails, draft beer and wine, and indoor or outdoor seating that will accommodate approximately 200 people. The restaurant is one of the largest that The Stand has, providing ample space and options for everyone visiting the mall or on a mission for a great meal.  The restaurant is a new addition to the renovations that have been taking place to The Valley (formerly Westfield Mission Valley), as it is being modernized and better fitted to provide sought-after services to the public. The restaurant is located directly across from the AMC Theatres and Yard House.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at The Stand on October 8, 2026. The event will start at 10:30 am, with the ribbon-cutting taking place at 11:00 am, followed by lunch until 12:30 pm. The first 50 customers in line will receive a $20 gift card. Founding family members, corporate leadership, city officials, and members of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, will be in attendance.

“We would love to see people come out for the official ribbon cutting ceremony,” said Wishengrad. “This is a great addition to The Valley outdoor mall and we are thrilled to be a part of this community.”

The Stand offers multiple ways to connect with the community, including fundraising and spirit nights. Local schools, teams, and organizations that host a spirit night at this new location during 2026 will receive 25% of event sales. They work with local organizations, teams and groups in a variety of ways to help support them in the community.  Guests are also encouraged to join The Stand Rewards program by downloading The Stand app. It provides the opportunity to earn rewards and get exclusive offers. Through October 2026, members will receive a Buy One Entree, Get One 50% OFF for The Valley location, along with other offers throughout the MLB Playoffs.

The Stand has additional growth plans, with two more locations in San Diego being planned to open for early 2027 in Encinitas and Temecula, along with locations in the bay area and Huntington Beach Q2 next year.

The Stand is a fan favorite for those who like variety and an elevated take on traditional favorites. The menu includes creative burgers, protein-packed bowls, satisfying sandwiches, seasonally inspired salads, wraps, hot dogs, shakes, and more. Some of the unique menu items offered include the French Onion Soup Burger, Miso Salmon Bowl, Chinese Chicken Salad and Wrap, Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger, and more. They also have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available, including a Falafel Wrap, Veggie Burger, Mac and Cheese, and Sweet Potato Fries. This location also features a full bar with crafted cocktails, local beer, and wine.
