Free Cybersecurity Webinar Led By Expert Hired To 'Hack' & 'Scam'

San Diego County Credit Union is hosting the online session, featuring the pro who businesses use to test their computer systems.

SAN DIEGO, CA — National cybersecurity expert Jim Stickley is featured in a free, educational webinar that is currently available online to area residents and addresses computer scams and threats with — particularly timely now — a focus on coronavirus-related phishing emails, malicious COVID-19 mobile apps and fake e-commerce websites.

The CEO of his La Mesa-based company, Stickley on Security, Stickley often is tapped for his cybersecurity knowledge by such programs as NBC's Today Show, appears on Life Lock infomercials and is hired by corporations to find security flaws in their computer systems.

"Stickley has stolen credit cards, hacked Social Security numbers, robbed banks, created fake ATMs, broken into armed government facilities and stolen from teenagers," said a spokesperson for San Diego County Credit Union, the webinar's host. "Fortunately for all victims involved, Jim is a cybersecurity expert with over 20 years in the industry, who was hired to perform these attacks by corporations testing their security, and agencies interested in knowing just how easy it is to commit identity theft."
