Grocery Outlet Opens New Store In San Diego County

RAMONA, CA — Grocery Outlet has opened a new store in Ramona, expanding the discount supermarket chain's presence in California.

The store is operated by entrepreneur Jordan Kelley, who will oversee the location as an independent operator responsible for day-to-day operations, including hiring, merchandising and marketing.

"We are so excited to be expanding Grocery Outlet's footprint with our newest location in California," Kyle Noble, the chain's senior director of marketing, said in a statement.

"If you've never been to a Grocery Outlet before, we are looking forward to getting to know you and providing you and your family with new options for high-quality, affordable produce, meat and groceries," Noble added. "And if you're familiar with us, we can't wait to surprise you with something new."

The Emeryville-based retailer operates more than 540 stores across the U.S.

The Ramona store is among several California locations Grocery Outlet is set to open this summer as the chain resumes expansion after closing 36 underperforming stores earlier this year, including nine in California. Other stores are slated to open in Ontario Ranch, San Francisco, Clovis and Petaluma, KTLA reported.

The company said it plans to open at least 30 new stores in 2026.
