Jill Biden 'Joining Forces' San Diego Trip Planned This Week
First Lady Jill Biden will come to San Diego Friday and Saturday to talk to military families, the White House announced.

SAN DIEGO, CA — First Lady Jill Biden was scheduled to arrive in San Diego Friday to talk with military families and healthcare professionals, according to a White House spokesperson.
On Friday, Biden plans to speak at a gathering on board the USS Gabrielle Giffords at Naval Base San Diego, sharing her Joining Forces message of support for those who serve, both military and veteran families, caregivers, and survivors, according to a report from the Times of San Diego.
Since becoming First Lady, Biden has visited over 24 military installations within the military-connected community, according to her blog. Most recently, she visited Fort Drum Monday.

"I am taking the stories of military families back to Washington so that we can better serve communities just like this across the country," she said on her Facebook page.

She will also visit the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic in Oceanside and talk with military families who have experience with that clinic, according to that report.
During her southern California visit, she will stop by a Family Health Centers of San Diego Clinic focusing on cancer screenings for underserved communities.
She will end her southern California tour by presenting at Sunday's 65th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
