Man Dies After Medical Emergency On San Diego Freeway
Any witnesses should contact the CHP.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A man died after suffering a medical emergency on Interstate 5 in San Diego, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol's Border Communications Center received a call shortly before noon Friday about an unresponsive man on northbound I-5, south of Civic Center Drive. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
The man's identity was withheld pending family notification.

A toxicology report was pending from the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office. The CHP San Diego Area was investigating the cause and sequence of events leading up to the man's death.
