Man Injured Riding New Motorcycle Near Petco Park

The man was taken to a hospital where he is expected to have surgery for a serious injury to his right leg.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was injured on a newly purchased motorcycle near Petco Park, police said Wednesday.

A 28-year-old man on a 2015 Suzuki 750 was traveling at high speeds in a parking lot near the baseball field in downtown when he lost control and crashed into a metal fence around 8:20 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police report that the man slid under the fence and into the back tire of a nearby tractor trailer. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
