San Diego Freeway Reopens After Stolen Trailer Police Pursuit Ends In Crash
The suspect crashed the SUV she was driving and overturned the reportedly stolen trailer near Pomerado Road, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman suspected of stealing a trailer led police on a freeway pursuit that ended in her arrest after she crashed the vehicle she was driving, authorities said.
Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a woman stealing a trailer in the Clairemont Mesa area, according to the San Diego Police Department. The suspect refused to yield when officers tried to pull her over as she was towing the reportedly stolen trailer attached to her SUV.
The woman fled on northbound state Route 163 and soon merged onto I-15, police Sgt. Saum Poorsaleh said. She eventually headed north on the southbound side of the freeway, where she crashed the SUV and overturned the trailer near Pomerado Road.

The suspect got out of the damaged SUV and appeared to try to force her way into several other vehicles before officers subdued her with an electric stun gun and took her into custody, Poorsaleh said. The identity of the woman was not immediately available.
No serious injuries were reported.

All lanes on northbound Interstate 15 at Miramar Way were blocked after the crash, according to Caltrans. Two southbound lanes were also closed.
A SigAlert was issued for the area. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
By 9 a.m., northbound I-15 Express Lanes were open to all traffic, while traffic was also being diverted off the freeway at Miramar Way, according to the California Highway Patrol. Caltrans also set up a hard closure and diverted traffic from northbound I-15 NB to state Route 52.
