SAN DIEGO, CA — Patxi’s Pizza, a restaurant chain that began in 2004 in Silicon Valley and now has eateries throughout California, next week will open its first locale in San Diego, with two more planned for the region.

The purveyor of deep-dish and thin-crust pizza is holding a grand opening at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 3888 4th Ave. in Hillcrest with a freebie, 10-inch Neapolitan pizza for the first 50 people in line, plus day-long, buy-one-get-one-free pizza offers and complimentary samples, according to management.

“The expansion into San Diego has been a goal for Patxi’s Pizza since the beginning, so we’re thrilled that those plans are finally coming to fruition with our first location in Hillcrest,” said Michael Nakhleh, president of Elite Restaurant Group, Patxi’s parent company since 2018.

Also planned to support its new community, Patxi’s, (pronounced "Patchy's," by the way), will host a fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 26 to benefit The San Diego LGBT Community Center in Hillcrest.

Beginning at 11 a.m. that day, Patxi’s will offer $5 deep-dish slices with 20 percent of proceeds donated to The Center to help further its efforts for San Diego’s LGBT community, the business said.

Los Angeles-based Elite Restaurant Group, which also owns Slater’s 50/50 and Daphne’s, has two additional Patxi’s Pizza locales planned for the San Diego region —in Chula Vista and Eastlake.

Patxi’s Pizza in Hillcrest will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. To check out the menu, follow this link.
