Pedestrian Struck By Car And Injured In North Park Area
The pedestrian fell to the ground with an open fracture to his right leg, police said.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A 32-year-old man was injured when he walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle and was struck in the North Park area of San Diego, authorities said Sunday.
The crash occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday at 30th Street and University Avenue, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The man was in the crosswalk of University Avenue moving from west to east against a red light when he was hit by a 2018 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on 30th Street that had a green light, police said.

The pedestrian fell to the ground with an open fracture to his right leg, police said. Paramedics took him to Scripps Mercy hospital with injuries not believed life-threatening.
The crash was under investigation, but police said it did not appear DUI was a factor.
