Woman In Wheelchair Struck By Coaster Train In San Diego
The collision happened near Pacific Highway and West Washington Street, according to authorities.

SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman in a wheel chair was struck by a train Wednesday morning in San Diego.
The collision happened around 7:30 a.m. near Pacific Highway and West Washington Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The southbound Coaster train was traveling about 50 miles per hour when it struck the woman.
"The train went into emergency braking and sounded its whistle and horn," officials said. "The female was unable to be moved off of the tracks and was struck by the train."

The 57-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest.
Train service was halted in the area, affecting both Coaster and Amtrak lines, but the tracks were cleared and normal operations resumed shortly after 9:30 a.m.
