Police ID Woman Found Dead In Apparent Homicide In San Diego

No suspects were identified as of Monday morning.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Police Monday identified a woman whose family members found her dead in an apparent homicide in San Diego's Fairmont Village neighborhood.

Marilyn Ruiz Lopez suffered apparent traumatic injuries inside an apartment in the 3600 block of 45th Street, San Diego police homicide Lt. Matt Dobbs said. Officers responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call "regarding a possible death" about 5:10 p.m. Saturday.

The victim went out with friends and returned home about 5:45 Saturday morning, police said. Her body was discovered by family members just after 5 p.m. that day.

Homicide detectives assigned to the case were "investigating the death as a possible homicide," Dobbs said.

No suspects were identified as of Monday morning.
