Poll Workers Needed For June 7 Primary In San Diego County

The San Diego Registrar of Voters​ is seeking ​additional poll workers throughout the county.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — More poll workers are needed for the June 7 primary in San Diego County.

The San Diego Registrar of Voters is seeking additional poll workers throughout the county, particularly in Borrego Springs, Dulzura, Jacumba, Linda Vista, Pala, Santa Ysabel, Valley Center and Warner Springs. Applicants do not need to live in those communities to work at vote centers in those locations, according to the Registrar of Voters.

English speakers who are bilingual in Spanish, Chinese, Filipino or Vietnamese are also needed.

Responsibilities include submitting hiring/payroll paperwork, attending a two-day, paid poll worker training, opening and closing a vote center, processing voters, and answering voter questions, according to the Registrar of Voters.

To become a poll worker, applicants must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and registered to vote in California, or lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the country. Applicants must also provide their own transportation to their assigned vote center.

Poll workers can earn $15 per hour, according to the Registrar of Voters.
