Property Management Leaders Honored at Mark of Excellence Awards

Southern California Rental Housing Association Recognizes Ernest Rady with Industry Achievement Award

The top property management, leasing, maintenance, and industry partners in the region were honored Friday, Dec. 2, with the 2022 Mark of Excellence Awards recognizing outstanding achievements in the rental housing industry. 27 awards in 14 categories were announced at the Southern California Rental Housing Association event held at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego.

“It was a privilege to recognize Ernest Rady, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of American Assets Trust, with the Industry Achievement Award,” said Alan Pentico, Executive Director – Southern California Rental Housing Association. “He has more than 40 years of real estate management and development experience and is a role model for our industry.”

Abigail Rex, Southern California Rental Housing Association Board Member and Vice President of Multifamily at American Assets Trust, presented Rady with the Industry Achievement Award.

“Alongside his philanthropic work, I know Ernest in another light, when he’s at his day job,” said Rex. “He comes to work every day and inspires each of us to be our very best, regardless of the circumstances. He knows every team member’s name and always asks about their well-being and their families; a quality which I admire. He isn’t afraid to challenge us about the rental market, the trends, and how we could improve our properties, so residents feel good about coming home.”

Mark of Excellence Award honorees included the best of the best in San Diego, Imperial, and southern Riverside Counties.

Repositioned Property of the Year

Property of the Year

Property Management Company of the Year

· H.G. Fenton Company

In addition, Leslie Giroux of H.G. Fenton Company was recognized with the President’s Award

for “contributing her time and resources during the past year well beyond the typical standards,” Pentico said.
