Road Construction to Impact I-5 and State Route 52 in San Diego

Road construction work will temporarily shut down some connector ramps on Interstate 5 and state Route 52 for four nights this week.

SAN DIEGO - Paving and construction work will temporarily shut down some connector ramps on Interstate 5 and state Route 52 for four nights this week, according to Caltrans.

Closures will start from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m Monday, and continue during the same time period through Thursday. Caltrans said drivers can expect closures at the following locations along I-5 and SR-52 during those times:

  • Monday, Oct. 17: Westbound SR-52 connector ramps to northbound and southbound I-5, La Jolla Parkway on-ramp to southbound I-5 and on-ramps at Genesee Avenue and Regents Road to westbound SR-52.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 18: La Jolla Parkway on-ramp to southbound SR-52 and southbound I-5 connector ramp to southbound SR-52.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 19: Northbound I-5 connector ramp to eastbound SR-52, westbound SR-52 off-ramp La Jolla Parkway and northbound I-5 off-ramp to La Jolla Parkway.
  • Thursday, Oct. 20: La Jolla Parkway on-ramp to southbound I-5 and La Jolla Parkway on-ramp to eastbound SR-52.

Caltrans said the construction project will include replacing pavement on the connectors with 1,000 tons of asphalt designed to reduce sound.
