San Diego Resident Competes On 'The Price Is Right'

SAN DIEGO, CA — An active-duty military member from San Diego will appear on the Fourth of July Special of "The Price Is Right."

Daelyn Chaney, 34, competed in the July 4 episode of the longest-running game show.

"'The Price Is Right' is iconic," said Chaney, who has lived in San Diego for two years. "One of my favorite shows growing up, and a frequent watch in the office when time is available."

Chaney, who serves in the Coast Guard, learned about the opportunity when he received an email on base seeking military members interested in attending the show. It was his first time appearing on a game show.

Chaney said he had a "great time" on the show. He enjoyed the "energy" and "classic feel."

"My favorite part was the audience interaction," Chaney said.

"I'd like to add how cool and personable Drew Carey is," he added. "Very friendly and tells some good jokes."

The episode is scheduled to air at 10 a.m. on July 4 on CBS.
