Snow Prompts Some School Closures In San Diego County

Snow and freezing temperatures caused school closures and late starts in Julian, Santa Ysabel and Warner Springs.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Schools in the Julian Union Elementary and Julian Union High school districts will be closed Wednesday and have a late start on Thursday due to snow and predicted freezing temperatures, the San Diego County Office of Education announced.

Spencer Valley School District in Santa Ysabel will be closed Wednesday for a snow day and Warner Unified School District in Warner Springs will have a two-hour late start.

"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," said Music Watson of the Office of Education.
