Some San Diego DMV Offices Now Open Earlier

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — The California Department of Motor Vehicles is now opening several San Diego area offices and dozens of other field offices across the state an hour earlier.

Since July 1, to help ease customer wait times, several offices in San Diego County have opened at 7 a.m. every weekday except Wednesday. On Wednesdays, the offices will continue to open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m., according to the DMV.

San Diego County DMV offices that are open earlier include the locations in El Cajon, Oceanside, Poway, San Diego Clairemont, San Diego (Normal Street), San Marcos and San Ysidro. The Chula Vista field office has offered extended hours since last summer.

In addition, 62 DMV offices throughout the state, including five in the San Diego area, are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday.
