SAN DIEGO, CA — A Mount Hope resident was arrested Thursday on suspicion of carrying out a deadly drive-by shooting a few blocks from his home last summer.

Anthony Goodrich Austin Jr., 43, was taken into custody Thursday morning at his residence in the 800 block of Raven Street in connection with the slaying of 51-year-old Arthur Williams on Aug. 30, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m. that day, Austin allegedly pulled up next to Williams in a sport utility vehicle and opened fire while the victim was sitting in his vehicle next to Dennis Allen Memorial Park on Gateway Center Way, SDPD Lt.
