Thanksgiving 2017: What's Open, Closed In San Diego County

Here's a list of county offices and services open and closed on Thanksgiving Day and during the holiday weekend.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – Thanksgiving is almost here, and as a federal holiday, government offices, schools and some businesses will take a break for the occasion.

In observance of Thanksgiving, San Diego County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The closures include county animal shelters, family resource centers, library branches and records. San Diego County Sheriff’s Department patrols, animal control emergency response and other essential services, however, will continue operations during the holiday.

As for county parks and campgrounds, they will be open during normal business hours with the exceptions listed below:

  • All 4S Ranch Sports Park offices will be closed, but the park will be open on Thursday. The recreation office is closed Friday, while the park office will be open.
  • Fallbrook Community Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.
  • Lakeside Community Center and the Teen Center/REC Club will be closed Thursday and Friday.
  • Spring Valley Community Center will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Spring Valley Teen Center/REC Club and gym will be closed Monday through Friday.

County animal shelters and libraries will resume regular business hours Saturday. All other county offices will reopen for regular business hours on Monday.
