Tips Sought In San Marcos Hit-Run Crash

SAN MARCOS, CA — Authorities reached out to the public Thursday for help in identifying a motorist who fled following a collision that left a motorcyclist seriously injured in a San Marcos intersection two weeks ago.
The victim was headed west on West San Marcos Boulevard when the driver of a pickup truck ran a red light at Grand Avenue and turned directly in his path shortly before 5:30 a.m. June 15, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported.
Following the ensuing collision, the motorist drove off without making any attempt to aid the downed motorcyclist, according to the regional law enforcement agency.

Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured images of the truck, a 1995-2000 extended-cab Toyota Tacoma that sustained damage to its passenger-side door in the crash, sheriff's officials said.
