Wild Teen Parties At Vacant Homes For Sale Leave San Diego Realtors On Edge
Targeted homes include a $1.15 million listing in Otay Mesa and a rental that saw $250,000 in damage in Oak Park, according to NBC 7.
SAN DIEGO — An unnerving trend has emerged in San Diego, where young people are taking over vacant homes for raucous parties, according to reports.
At least six such parties have been held in homes for sale or rent since August, with five occurring in just over a month and up to 20 in San Diego County during the last year, NBC 7 San Diego reported.
The parties are advertised on social media, with a cover charge at the door and the location revealed in group chats at the last minute, according to NBC 7, which noted arrests have proven challenging, but two cases are being prosecuted.

“There was fireworks, a huge hole in the wall, somebody got into a physical fight. We heard there was weapons and drugs,” real estate agent Vanessa Munoz told the outlet. “There was so much going on. We’re just so grateful that it wasn’t worse and nobody actually got hurt.”
The incident left $7,000 in damages, she told Realtor.com.
"We were supposed to be closing in the next few days," she told the website. "The homeowner was obviously very upset."
