Winter Storm Closes Some Roads, Parks, Schools In San Diego County
The latest in a series of strong winter storms brought more rain, flooding and mountain snow to the San Diego region.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Some schools, parks and roads were closed Wednesday after the latest in a series of strong winter storms brought more rain, flooding and mountain snow to the San Diego region.

GOVERNMENT FACILITIES

- After being closed Monday and early Tuesday, the city of San Diego's local assistance center reopened at 1 p.m. Tuesday for residents impacted by the recent storms. The center is located at the Mountain View Community Recreation Center at 641 South Boundary St. The center will remain open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. See a list of services.
- After being closed Monday and Tuesday, the four city of San Diego donation sites at Mountain View/Beckwourth Library, College-Rolando Library, Southcrest Recreation Center and Encanto Recreation Center will reopen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
PARKS
- Del Dios Highlands County Preserve: The staging area was closed Wednesday.
- Guajome Regional Park: The nature trail was closed Wednesday.
- Harmony Grove Equestrian Park: The staging area was closed Wednesday.
- Live Oak County Park: The leash-free dog area was closed Wednesday.
- Los Penasquitos Canyon County Preserve: The staging, ranch house and all trails were closed Wednesday.
- Lusardi Creek County Preserve: Creek access was closed Wednesday.
- Ramona Grasslands County Preserve: The staging area was closed Wednesday.
- Rancho Guajome Adobe: All trails were closed Wednesday.
- San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve: All trails were closed Wednesday.
- Santa Margarita County Preserve: The staging area and creek crossing were closed Wednesday.
- Sweetwater Bike Park was closed Wednesday.
- Tijuana River Valley Regional Park: All trails were closed Wednesday.
- Wilderness Gardens County Preserve: The San Luis Rey crossing on the main trail was closed Wednesday.

Bonsall
- As of 9:22 a.m. Wednesday, Camino Del Rey was closed from the horse park entrance to 5958 Camino Del Rey due to flooding.
Descanso
- As of 9:10 a.m., SR-79 at Riverside Drive was closed except to residents.
Escondido Area
- As of 9:06 a.m. Wednesday, Country Club Drive was closed south of Harmony Grove Road due to flooding.
Lakeside
- As of 8:07 a.m. Wednesday, Posthill Road was closed between SR-67 and Valley Vista Road.
Otay Lakes Area
- As of 11:23 a.m., Otay Lakes Road was closed between the 7-mile post marker and the 7.5-mile post marker due to flooding.
Pine Valley Area
- As of 11 a.m., the eastbound and westbound I-8 Buckman Springs Rest Areas were closed due to electrical pump issues.
- As of 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sunrise Highway was closed from SR-79 to the 27.5-mile post marker due to heavy snow. Chain control level 1 was in effect for Sunrise Highway from Old Highway 80 to the mile post 27.5.

- SR - 78/San Pasqual Valley Road.
- San Pasqual Valley Road/Ysabel Creek Road.
- 5045 Collwood Boulevard.
- Hazard Center Drive from Avenida Del Rio to Frazee Road.
- Fashion Valley Road from Hotel Circle North to Riverwalk Drive.
- 1000 Fiesta Island Road.
- Sorrento Valley Road/Carmel Mountain Road.
