Winter Storm Forces School Closures In San Diego County
Schools in the Julian Union Elementary, Julian Union High, Mountain Empire Unified and Spencer Valley school districts will be closed.
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Schools in the Julian Union Elementary, Julian Union High, Mountain Empire Unified and Spencer Valley school districts will be closed Wednesday due an impending snowstorm, the San Diego County Office of Education announced.
Schools in the Julian Union Elementary and Julian Union High school districts will also have a late start on Thursday, said Music Watson of the Office of Education.
A winter storm warning will be in effect through 6 p.m. Wednesday in the county's mountains, with snow accumulating up to a foot in some areas and as much as 18 inches on higher peaks, according to the National Water Service.

"The safety of students and school staff is of the utmost importance to San Diego County school districts," Watson said.
