World-renowned Artist Concetta Antico Captivates San Diegans

Conjuring Colors Art Show is a First at-home Show for Tetrachromat Artist

More than 100 art collectors and art enthusiasts made their way to Mission Hills on Saturday, October 28, for world-renowned artist Concetta Antico’s “Conjuring Colors” show. A first in-home intimate show for the tetrachromat artist, Concetta displayed nearly 30 brand new works of art, which all showcased her master level skills and exceptional color intuition.

Concetta possesses a rare genetic gift called tetrachromacy, which allows her to see 100 times more colors than a normal vision person—99 million more, to be exact. She has used this gift to create art that encapsulates color in a way no other artist has done before.

Concetta notes she was elated to host her first show in her own home. “It felt so authentic and welcoming,” said Concetta. “My home gallery venue beautifully showcased my work. My intent is that my bi-annual events will provide a wondrous and total 3-D creative color concept experience on a very personal platform.”

Concetta sold a number of paintings at the show, including “Who’s Your Genie?,” which only took her an hour and a half to paint the week of the show. All of her paintings are done in one sitting, with time ranging from one to six hours, depending on size. According to the artist, she can envision the painting and all the colors before the first very first brush stroke.

Concetta has developed her gift, becoming a master of her craft and giving her the ability to create works of art in just a few hours. Click here to view a remarkable time-lapse video of her painting one of her pieces.
