SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Fire crews rescued a hiker who fell about 100 feet from a cliff in San Francisco on Memorial Day, authorities said.
It's unclear how the hiker fell. The San Francisco Fire Department said crews and a rescue helicopter responded to War Memorial San Francisco around 7 p.m. after reports of a hiker falling about 70 to 100 feet.
There, they found the stranded hiker along a remote trail below the cliff, officials said.
The hiker was rescued and taken to a local hospital for treatment, fire officials said. Officials did not describe the extent of the hiker's injuries.
