Fire Crews Rescue Hiker Who Fell 100 Feet Off SF Cliff

The hiker was hospitalized, although their condition isn't clear

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Fire crews rescued a hiker who fell about 100 feet from a cliff in San Francisco on Memorial Day, authorities said.

It's unclear how the hiker fell. The San Francisco Fire Department said crews and a rescue helicopter responded to War Memorial San Francisco around 7 p.m. after reports of a hiker falling about 70 to 100 feet.

There, they found the stranded hiker along a remote trail below the cliff, officials said.

The hiker was rescued and taken to a local hospital for treatment, fire officials said. Officials did not describe the extent of the hiker's injuries.
