Fire Crews Rescue Hiker Who Fell 100 Feet Off SF Cliff (patch.com) — San Francisco firefighters and a rescue helicopter saved a hiker who plunged an estimated 70 to 100 feet from a cliff along a remote trail on Memorial Day. Crews reached the stranded person near War Memorial San Francisco and transported them to a local hospital, though officials have not disclosed how the fall happened or the extent of the injuries. The incident highlights the risks on the city’s rugged trails and the fire department’s specialized rescue capabilities.    

2. Children's playground reopens in San Francisco's Tenderloin (ktvu.com) — Families in San Francisco’s Tenderloin now have a fully renovated children’s playground at Ellis and Hyde, featuring a new basketball court, mini-soccer field and climbing structure. Backed by a $3.8 million public‑private partnership, the park will now open Saturdays, giving neighborhood kids a brighter, safer place to play close to home.
