SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A person and a dog are OK after being pulled from the water near a small sandy cove in San Francisco, fire officials said.
It's unclear what led up to the duo needing help. Fire officials say they responded to a call near the Battery Chamberlain Area around 10:14 a.m. after reports that a person and a dog were in distress.
The San Francisco Fire Department said it located the person and dog closer to China Beach and sent rescue swimmers out to pull them back in.
The rescue came a day after fire crews rescued two people stuck on a cliff's edge at Battery Cranston, authorities said.
