• Raging Waters closes this summer as San Jose promises water park upgrades (mercurynews.com) — San Jose’s Lake Cunningham water park, formerly Raging Waters and CaliBunga, will stay closed this summer while a new operator upgrades and reimagines the 23-acre site. Other parts of Lake Cunningham Regional Park, including the large skate and bike parks, remain open with added community programming as the city plans a next-generation aquatic destination.
   

• Buick fleeing police crashes in San Jose, killing passenger (mercurynews.com) — San Jose police are investigating the city’s 21st traffic death of 2026 after a Buick fleeing Santa Clara officers crashed at Naglee and Park avenues in the Rose Garden neighborhood, killing a female passenger. The driver was seriously injured and arrested, two people in another car were hurt, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact San Jose or Santa Clara police or leave an anonymous tip.
