What happens when an ecosystem welcomes back a missing piece?
Lost Wolves of Yellowstone unearths one of the most daring wildlife experiments in American history: the reintroduction of gray wolves to Yellowstone National Park after a more than 50-year absence. Told through rare, long-lost 16mm archival footage, this educational film takes audiences into the tense early days of the project as Canadian wolves waited in acclimation pens, preparing to return to a wilderness that had nearly forgotten them.
The film follows the science, struggle, and hope behind this remarkable conservation story, including the legacy of Mollie H. Beattie, the first woman to lead the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the wolves who became known as Mollie’s Pack.
On the largest dome screen in the Bay Area, visitors will experience Yellowstone’s wild beauty, political tension, and ecological rebirth in an immersive IMAX with Laser presentation with crystal-clear sound.
